Supertelly is how Sky TV describe the combination of the Sky+HD Box and the huge choice of HD channels they have available - as they put it "Your HD Ready TV + Sky HDTV = Supertelly". At 37 channels Sky reckon to have around 30 more than their competitors and from early 2010 have been offering the Sky+HD Box free (normally £49) with free set-up to anyone who takes the HD Pack for £10 a month. Where customers used to have a choice between the Standard Box, the Sky+ Box and the HD Box there is now just the HD Box as standard and the choice is whether or not to take the HD Pack. The standard box is still available but only as an extra box as part of a Multiroom package, where you pay £10 a month to have more than one Sky-enabled TV.
Sky have also released the Sky+HD 1TB, a long-awaited 1 terabyte version of the HD box costing £249. This has 1000GB of memory for video storage on top of the 400GB reserved for Anytime and amounts to around 740 hours of SD and 240 hours of HD TV. Later in 2010 the Sky 3D channel will be introduced, first in pubs in April and later to home users, and the new 1TB box has been timed to fit in with this development.
