Sky Movies on the Go – Voucher Offer Extended Too

Two snippets of news to report from Sky Digital – an offer extended and news of Sky Movies coming to the Sky Go service.

£100 Voucher Offer Extended

Sky Go

Firstly you may be aware of the current offer giving a £100 M&S voucher to any new customer taking Sky+ or Sky+HD or to an existing customer upgrading to HD – it’s a great offer, especially in the run-up to Christmas (think how many mince pies that would get you) and it has now been extended until December 21st. As a further improvement the £30 set-up fee for Sky+ has been waived too, so it’s free box and set-up whether or not you take HD (Sky+HD was already free set-up).

The M&S offer can be combined with 2 other deals on the Sky site at the moment – 2 Months Free Trial of Sky Movies and 6 Months Half Price Broadband Unlimited. The Sky Movies trial was originally for anyone taking Sky TV with Broadband Unlimited, Talk and line rental but is now open to all new Sky TV customers and runs until Christmas Eve. The 6 months half price gives you exactly that if you take a TV package – unlimited broadband for £3.75 a month instead of £7.50. Sky Movies Now Available on Sky Go

Sky Movies

In a new development today it has been announced that Sky Movies is now available on Sky Go via the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as well as online on a Mac, PC or laptop. The service is initially available over WiFi with 3G coming soon, plus thanks to Sky’s recent acquisition of public network The Cloud from next year you’ll be able to use free WiFi for Sky Go in almost 6000 cafes, restaurants, pubs and stations around the UK. An Android app is also planned shortly.

Eleven movie channels are now available on Sky Go

  • Sky Movies Action & Adventure
  • Sky Movies Classics
  • Sky Movies Comedy
  • Sky Movies Drama & Romance
  • Sky Movies Family
  • Sky Movies Indie
  • Sky Movies Modern Greats
  • Sky Movies Premiere
  • Sky Movies SciFi/Horror
  • Sky Movies Showcase
  • Sky Movies Crime & Thriller

These work on the basis of ‘linear entitlement’, in other words if the Movies package you subscribe to includes that channel then it’s also available to you on the Go – if not it isn’t.

Some of the highlights coming soon include Black Swan, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, Gulliver’s Travels, Little Fockers and Limitless – to think Sky Movies customers (subject to linear entitlement of course!) can now watch one of these over WiFi on their iPhones for no extra charge is pretty amazing.

See our Sky Go page for more info on the service – remember it’s available to all Sky TV customers.
