Virgin TV M+ and Phone M

Virgin Media TV M+ is the smallest of the three Virgin TV sizes with a total of 75 channels- all of the Freeview ones plus a selection of subscription channels. As with all Virgin TV packages you also get catch-up from BBC iPlayer and the equivalent services from ITV, Channel 4 and Five free of charge, however TV M+ does not come with any TV Choice on-demand content which is limited to the L and XL packages. TV L has 115 channels and TV XL (the top package) has 175.

Channels in TV M+

The 75 channels include lifestyle channels like Sky 1, Sky Living and the Universal Channel, sport such as Eurosport, At The Races and Sky Sports News, documentary content including Yesterday and Discovery and movies from Film4 and Movies 24.

As mentioned above the M+ TV package can be taken with a Virgin TiVo box for recording, pausing and rewinding live TV – the equivalent of the Sky+ service. TiVo has only been widely available on Virgin since early 2011 and has some excellent features such as searching for TV by keyword, Wishlists to ask the box to record for you anything relating to actor, director or title keywords and easy access to catch-up shows thanks to the EPG which can browse backwards 7 days as well as looking forward to see what’s on. TiVo costs £3 a month so the price for M+ with TiVo is £9.50 a month – M+ can also be taken with the basic V HD box, which doesn’t have recording and other PVR functions, for £6.50 a month. Both are subject to a £13.90 a month line rental if you’re taking TV M+ with Phone M.
